Head of Data, Information, and Public Relations Disaster Management
Agency (BNPB) Sutopo Purwo Nugroho said, the last information received
it was mentioned that the number of deaths caused by the earthquake in
Aceh amounted to 110 people.
This data was obtained from the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD).
As for the details, in the district of Pidie Jaya totaling 105 people died, 3 person in Pidie, Bireuen and two people died.
"Meanwhile, there was one person missing, 136 serious injuries and 116
minor injuries," said Sutopo in BNPB office, Jakarta, Thursday
(12/08/2016).
According to Sutopo, the current total of 85 bodies have been identified.
He said that the death toll is predicted to continue to rise. Therefore, the search for victims is not yet fully done at all points of collapsed buildings.
In order to speed up the search process, BNPB also has deployed a team of experts. In addition, BNPB also exert a powerful tool for detecting the presence of the victims in the rubble.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics (BMKG) had previously noted there was an earthquake with a strength of 6.5 magnitude in Pidie Jaya, Aceh province, on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at 5:36 pm.
Epicenter located at 5.25 N and 96.24 BT, precisely on the ground at a distance of 106 km south-east of Banda Aceh at a depth of 15 km.
