In the tradition of TAFISA World Sport for All Games, the 6th Games – that will be hosted by TAFISA member orgnanisation Indonesian Sport for All Federation (FORMI) in Jakarta, Indonesia, from October 6th to 12th, 2016 – will again be a vibrant and entertaining experience, offering a unique opportunity to discover the variety and values of Sport for All including traditional games and popular sports of cultures from around the world.
The 6th TAFISA World Sport for All Games will be held under the patronage of UNESCO and IOC, acknowledging once again the important role that traditional sports and games play in shaping civilizations and cultures, national identities, and cross-boundaries unity.
Venues and Theme
Jakarta is with its 10 million inhabitants the capital city and getaway to Indonesia, an archipelago country consisting of about 13,000 islands and 200 million people. Indonesia has a unique diversity of tribes, language, culture, customs and religion, and this diversity is mirrored in Jakarta. Due to its geographical condition, it is easily approached by land, air and sea transportations.These Games are set to reflect the cultural wealth of Indonesia.
The Games’ venues have been selected and delegations coming from all over the World will get the opportunity to discover the city’s many facets, including:
- Jakarta‘s Main Stadium “Gelora Bung Karno”
- Ancol Dream Land Marine Resort
- Indonesia Miniature Park (TMII)
- Monas
- The Thamrin Boulevard
- Jakarta’s Convention Centre.
The 2016 Games, to be held from the 6th to the 12th of October 2016 in Jakarta, Indonesia, promises to be unique. During the Organising Committee meeting that was held in Jakarta from the 26th of April to the 1st of May 2014, representatives from TAFISA and FORMI visited inspiring potential venues for the event, including the famous park “Ancol”, the open-air museum and recreation park "Taman Mini",
